I reckon a good resort show should make you want to go on holiday, and despite the obscene fact that I’ve had two holidays already this year Diane von Furstenberg’s collection did just that. The colours are so darn jolly – especially that sugar pink and sky blue suit.
Love the prints too – reading Every Eye by Isobel English at the moment and the mosaic-feel shapes and colours of DvF’s textiles remind me a bit of the endpaper in the book. As with every Persephone book, the endpaper is chosen specifically to work with the date and mood of the book. Every Eye is about an English woman’s trip to Ibiza in the 1950s and the end paper was chosen accordingly:
The fabric is from the 1956 ‘Iberia’ range; the shapes are an image of a rocky landscape, while the bright yellow makes an implicit contrast with the grey of England.
